Biography

Tan Jian: Associate Chief Physician, Department of Plastic Surgery, Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital. After graduating with a PhD in Ophthalmology from Zhejiang University in 2007, he joined the Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, where he specialized in refined ophthalmic surgical procedures. In 2010, he went to Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital to assist in establishing its Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery. In 2013, he was appointed as a master's supervisor at Tongji University. From 2014 to 2015, he pursued further training at the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He currently serves as Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital. He has led and completed one National Natural Science Foundation of China project and one Outstanding Young Talent Program project each from Tongji University and Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital. He has published 5 SCI-indexed papers as first (corresponding) author.

He specializes in maxillofacial contouring plastic surgery; aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyes and nose; liposuction body contouring and autologous fat transplantation; breast contouring surgery and intimate aesthetic surgery; and treatment of superficial tumors and wound repair.
